Admissions Guide for the 2021 International Comprehension Experimental Class of Niulanshan First Secondary School

国际理解力实验班是2019年北京教育学院牵头的重点立项课题项目，同时也是牛栏山一中教育改革的新举措之一，我校是北京市唯一一所参与此课题的公立高中。

该实验班在保证完成国家高中课程的前提下，着力培养学生的国际理解力。国际理解力实验班的学生在高三毕业时有国内大学和海外大学两种选择机会。中国籍学生以海外名校为主要升学方向；外国籍学生以北大、清华等国内名校为主要升学方向。

International Comprehension Experimental Class is a key project led by Beijing Institute of Education in 2019, and it is also one of the new initiatives of Niulanshan First Secondary School’s education reform. Our school is the only public high school in Beijing to participate in this project.Under the premise of ensuring the completion of the national high school curriculum, the experimental class strives to cultivate students' international understanding. Students in the International Comprehension Experimental class have two options: study in China or abroad. The primary direction for Chinese students is to study overseas in prestigious universities; the main focus for foreign students is Peking or Tsinghua University as well as other domestic institutions.

国际理解力实验班以国家高中课程为主，增加了托福、雅思、ACT等国际标准化考试培训课程和部分大学先修课程。同时还开设了第二外语、艺术、体育等特色课程，采用必修、专修、选修相结合的方式使课程内容更加综合和全面。

必修课：中国高中教学大纲所规定的全部课程

专修：托福、雅思、SAT、ACT等国际标准化考试培训课程和部分大学先修课程

选修课：

（1）语言类课程：法语、日语、德语、西班牙语等第二外语。

（2）体育类课程：马术、高尔夫、击剑、赛艇、武术、搏击、国标舞、滑雪、英式橄榄等国际认可度高的体育类课程。

（3）艺术类课程：影视制作、英语戏剧等。

（4）社会实践类课程：科技竞赛、慈善环保、志愿者服务、海外游学、职业体验等实践类课程，专家讲座、家长进课堂分享创业经验等互动活动。

（5）中国文化类课程：中国武术、舞蹈、中国书画、中国传统乐器演奏课程、中国传统礼仪、古诗词演诵等。

The International Comprehension Experimental class is mainly based on the national high school curriculum, with the addition of international standardized examination training courses such as TOEFL, IELTS, ACT, and some pre-university courses. At the same time, special courses such as the second foreign language, art, sports, etc. are also offered. The course content is more holistic by using a combination of compulsory, specialized, and elective courses.

Compulsory courses: All the courses stipulated in the Chinese high school curriculum

Specialized courses: TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT and other international standardized examination training courses and some pre-university courses

Elective courses:

 (1) Language courses: French, Japanese, German, Spanish, etc.

 (2) Sports courses: Equestrian, Golf, Fencing, Rowing, Martial Arts, Boxing, Ballroom Dancing, Skiing, Rugby and more.

 (3) Art courses: Film and Television production, English drama, etc.

 (4) Social Practice courses: Science and technology competition, charity and environmental protection, volunteer service, overseas study tour, career experience and other practical courses, expert lectures, parents' sharing entrepreneurial experience in class and other interactive activities.

 (5) Chinese Culture courses: Chinese martial arts, dance, Chinese painting and calligraphy, Chinese traditional musical instrument performance courses, Chinese traditional etiquette, ancient poetry recitation, etc.

2021届北京市顺义牛栏山第一中学国际部毕业生已收到来自世界各地的录取通知书。相较往年美国作为申请主流，2021届同学们更多的选择了英国、澳大利亚，同时也有更多同学进行多国家申请。

The Class of 2021 graduates of the International Department of Beijing Shunyi Niulanshan First Secondary School have received university offers from all over the world. Compared to the application cycle in previous years with majority of students choosing to study in the United States, more students from the Class of 2021 chose the United Kingdom and Australia as their final study abroad destination, and many applied to multiple countries for this application cycle.

1. Officially admitted by Niulanshan First Secondary School in 2021 as a new high school student

2. Have good grades and excellent performance in school

3. Letter of recommendation from the head teacher.

4. Pass the interview organized by the International Department, with excellent English proficiency.
